A Dedication to Mr Picasso

I know i draw without taking any lessons and so most of my drawings might be technically incorrect (and sometimes hard to draw too), but at the end of the day, what matters is that i love it.
This one is an Oil on Paper, my first proper oil on paper portrait. Took me about 4 hrs (i guess i should buy new brushes, they don't look so good . .) and now i can't breathe, thanks to the turpentine.
Looking forward to your priceless feedback. :)

  8. Very nicely done, technical or not. If you want feedback (don't know if it is priceless) you may want to add just a bit more shading under his chin.

  14. Well, I love it and I love that you love it. Try the water soluble oil paints. No stinky turpentine and they dry a bit faster but still blend wonderfully. Several brands are making them, now.

  15. how wonderful that you love making art....
I think it looks wonderful and I like your colors. I hope you are working in a ventilated area, I think oils etc. are bad for us to breathe.

  16. I'm pretty much self-taught too.
You're doing well in listening to yourself.
    Paint on!

  17. the painting is nice. i would say buy stretched canvas and bristle brushes. it will be more fun to paint. and lesser turpentine in your nose also. use more linseed oil when you are mixing paints. gives a sticky and fun feel. have fun... oil painting is great :)
