Illustrations in Books

Did this one completely in oil pastels. I feel that colouring is my weak point, can never get it quite right. I still was happy to use those colours from my childhood and now it looks sweet too. Also, I find it very hard to read books with illustrations in them, I keep looking at the illustrations and wanting to draw them. Used to happen when my parents got me books from the library when I was small, happens still. This one I picked up from a children's encyclopaedia.  * Sunday Sketches *

Stone in the Sea

Checking out Sunday Sketches after a while, pretty excited!

Election Sunday

We had general elections today, for the municipal corporation. Sunday seemed different. I got up after noon and have been listening to music & reading since, though what I really should be doing is studying. Anyway, this is what I made this week. The sheet was small, so the guy might look like a dwarf :p Have a Happy Sunday! Check out great art works at Sunday Sketches . . .

Aman

It didn't turn out quite as good, because I don't know the techniques of sketching, but here it is Happy Sunday to all the sketchers at Sunday Sketches! :p

Dolphin

Okay a quick 5min sketch because I have exams, and as it is I have sworn off studies. Wish me luck for tomorrow's paper, because I hardly study :p Also this is the first ever likes of a fish I have ever drawn. I'm learning. Have a Good rest of Sunday! And really for that, you have got to visit this place on the internet : Sunday Sketches :) [don't have a scanner, so I just put pictures here]

Mad Men

Okay 3 things,  I'm finally posting again on this blog in Sunday Sketches. Happy 2nd Anniversary to Sunday Sketches , Happy Birthday! Here are my sketches :     Mad Men Pretty Ladies

Water Colour Quickies

Nothing to say really, just wishing a good day to all my friends at Sunday Sketches and to everyone else. Thnx for stopping by! :-)

Cinderella

I've not been at home, so couldn't draw anything nice and new, just posting something I made years ago, when I was in grade 2 or 3..don't remember exactly. Enjoy your Sunday! Really looking forward to all the wonderful works posted in Sunday Sketches this weekend. P.S. I shall draw something new and good when I go back home, definitely! Cinderella it is.

Night Sky

Was just sitting on the terrace star gazing a few nights back. I wish there was a camera in my eyes. Sunday ends the week, but paves the way for a brand new week, wish you all the best for it!

Apple

An apple for the approaching autumn-winter season for all you wonderful artists at Sunday Sketches , and for two of my weird friends...they know who they are. :) Good Day!

Sketch Pen Stuff

My sister got new sketch pens, and while she was sitting watching FRIENDS till late at night, though very sleepy, I decided to draw, and came up with this (with a few others, that I haven't shared here): The background here is MS Paint. And then a few nights later, when I was just irritated because nothing seemed to be working at all, I made this (by the number of mistakes in it, you can tell i was irritable that day): And last to last night, I just wanted to escape from the scenery on the right to the scenery on the left: A very good morning and a happy Sunday to you! The weather is pleasant, as the rainy season(monsoon) is about to start, so the best thing to do is to view some lovely artwork at The Blue Chair Diary's Sunday Sketches , while listening to some awesome music. :) P.S. no pencils used at all (such a relief not to use the eraser) :)

Piano

Ah, the sketch day is here! I took a break from Sunday Sketches last week, so I've been eagerly waiting for it this Sunday. So my previous(and second ever) oil on paper was a dedication to Mr Picasso, this one, my 3rd Oil on Paper is dedicated to all the classical music artists, and to the lovely instrument, the Piano. Well a little bit of information about the Piano :  Piano, short for Pianoforte', the terms "piano" and "forte" meaning "quiet" and "loud" respectively, when devised in 1707 as the very early and crude version, was called "harpsichord with soft and loud".  And now over to the other wonderful artists' blogs.

Twilight

Here's my late submission for Sunday Sketches today. Earlier I was planning not to post anything this Sunday, because this week, all i did was admire other people's great talent, and did not make any drawing myself. But now I'm posting this several months-old drawing, that i made with a normal writing ball-point pen (I like to draw with anything that's available). Basically I watched the 1st film of the twilight series back then, and while i was watching it, the CD cover was lying on the bed. So i was looking at the cover, and my fingers just involuntarily made this :P Edward and Jacob I'm not sure I'l have the time to leave comments on anyone's post this week, but I do go through most of them, because i absolutely love it, so if you stumble upon this post, then i suggest you do check out the others at the Blue Chair Diary (this is actually a link, just not underlined).  It's night here, so have a goodnight. :)

Happy Birthday Bookmark

This is one of the bookmarks I had made for a friend, the front and the back side. I placed it in the book I gave her as the present. :) Happy Birthday to Sophia 's Dad!

Don

Hey Good Afternoon! well this got really late today, but here is my Sunday Sketch. It was drawn with a simple writing pen, coloured with a bit of crayons and MS Paint. The lady isn't most beautiful, but after a day of writing a report on Violence Against Women, I couldn't expect myself to get a beautiful drawing. (made on Friday) And now that you've seen this, do go over to Blue Chair Diary to treat your eyes with some better artwork! :) :P

Torn

Because men have feelings too (though most of them are related to female bodies, but i like to believe they think about things other than that too). . . My Sunday is incomplete without Sunday Sketches .

Strange Love

The title is just like that :P So these two i made in my very boring Machines lecture. We don't have a single good lecturer in college. Any way, this is how i pass time in college. . (the 2nd one's my lecturer :P) check out some beautiful paintings and sketches at the Blue Chair Diary .

A Dedication to Mr Picasso

I know i draw without taking any lessons and so most of my drawings might be technically incorrect (and sometimes hard to draw too), but at the end of the day, what matters is that i love it. This one is an Oil on Paper, my first proper oil on paper portrait. Took me about 4 hrs (i guess i should buy new brushes, they don't look so good . .) and now i can't breathe, thanks to the turpentine. Looking forward to your priceless feedback. :)

Black Sketch

Something i drew last night...for the reason why i mostly draw...to get rid of sadness/trouble. Couldn't get a better picture. . . Also it was really hard, on a useless black paper, with the worst pencil colours ever. If it is too bad, then just for the idea of the drawing, there are houses, tree trunks, two people, clouds, grass and a road in it. so i realised that it is a Sunday, hence, I'm over to Sunday Sketches now. :)
