About Nothing

There were 2-3 things I was thinking about. 1.  Why do we have to have general knowledge? I think it sucks that we have to. And general knowledge, in our country, as understood by our elders, is knowledge of politics and those news in the papers. They say you should know how your country works and what is going on in the world etc, but I'm not interested in politics. Now if you meet me and we got talking, you'd probably say I'm dumb or stupid or illiterate because I don't know these things. But read the newspapers, all they contain is news about corruption, rape, murder, robbery etc, in short, all the bad things. Not only that, also, the news is just scattered. Newspapers don't have much that interests me, they seldom talk about medical breakthroughs, amazing discoveries or upcoming artists. 18 out of the 22 pages are filled with non-sense, 2 with sports news, and I don't know whether it's any good or not, because I don't read sports news, and the la...

Okay I have a random question, though it’s a stupid one, but I don’t know, it just popped up in my head. So girls wear deodorants/colognes/perfumes that are meant for girls to wear, manufactured as girls’ products; and similarly men wear those manufactured for them. But when we go out in a party or on a date, don’t we wear fragrances that are attractive to the other sex?(like there’s this advertisement about a perfumed soap for women in which the lady comes into her room after having taken a bath and the husband goes completely head over heels, and all Romeo.) So if fragrances are meant for the liking of the other gender, then why is it that we go and check from a thousand bottles to buy a perfume that We like. If guys and girls like different things, then we are not supposed to like what we wear. And if we are wearing a perfume/deo that we like, won’t that just attract people of the same sex to us. While being a person who likes reaching places more than travelling ('cause travelling, sometimes, gets painfully uncomfortable), i greatly believe in 'Journey'. I do believe that life is a Journey. We start, and we end life, but what really is our destination? None and many. But for the most part of life, aren't we just travelling, small distances, large distances, distances in our mind. It is a journey, with lots of small goals. Every several intervals of time, we change paths. Why the newspaper i get at home is completely useless : While going through it, i read an article that said that scientists, in a latest research, involving more than a 1000 candidates, discovered that antibiotics are of not much use during Common Cold and can totally be avoided. Helloooo...we already know that! What part of this is 'latest' or 'research' now. . . o.O My parents know that, even my grandparents did. And we were taught in class eight, i guess, that the pathogens that cause Common Cold/ Flu are mostly VIRUSES, like Rhino-viruses. Any way newspapers are crap. :P Have a nice day!   

This word reminds me of only one thing instantly, that is, Dance. We practice pointing our feet all the time. Nowadays we are practising for the annual cultural festival of our college, and while we practice, we also teach the younger members of the dance team. So in the warm-up exercises, we are going. "Point Flex Point Flex...Other Side...Point Flex Point...". These days are the best days of college life, minimum studies, maximum activity. :P :D Imagine, students dancing around all the time, heaven! This also takes me back to my dance classes, where again, our instructors made us do a lot of pointing, of the feet of course. I must say, those guys and girls work hard to get the best out of us. Well India is famous for various unusual things and one of them is the Snake Charmers. In various parts of the world, people study hard and do lots of research before they came tame snakes; but here in my country, a person who can't even spell his name can tame a snake. I do not have any tale for this edition of the Thursday Tales , but my own. A memory, faint, but with me through the years. Nowadays one may not find any snake charmers on the roads, it does seem like just a thing of the tales, but i have seen snake charmers in my childhood. I do remember this one time, i might have been 5 or 6 or 7 years old , staying at my grandparents' house, a snake charmer came into the colony. Me and my sister went to see the snake being charmed, with our grandfather, he is a rather fearless and loving grand-dad.
