I know i draw without taking any lessons and so most of my drawings might be technically incorrect (and sometimes hard to draw too), but at the end of the day, what matters is that i love it. This one is an Oil on Paper, my first proper oil on paper portrait. Took me about 4 hrs (i guess i should buy new brushes, they don't look so good . .) and now i can't breathe, thanks to the turpentine. Looking forward to your priceless feedback. :)

Great job--you really captured the essence of your subject. You see his personality in his eyes and smile.
ReplyDeleteI think you capture this gentleman well. I can see the emotion and personality in it. Don't be so hard on yourself. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy SS!
Think an d speak positively.."See my sketch, pretty good considering i knew nothing about technique! I was so happy with the outcome! What do you think?" I think you are naturally talented and did a great piece. Keep on drawing...
ReplyDeletesuch a lovely spirit to this drawing!
ReplyDeleteI think you are being hard on yourself and there is a lot to like about this... you have some great parts, and the teeth are really well handled and some of your tonal work is great... drawing is always a challenge no matter how much training you have, so be kind to yourself... have a great week...xx
ReplyDeletei think you did a great job...you really captured the teeth well and the shading of the hair -
